Deuel Claims Long-Awaited Hometown Title
“The Prince of pool” downs Wiseman to take Pro Players Championship

by Paul Berg, Inside pool Staff
Having come up in nearby Philadelphia poolrooms, Corey Deuel has been attending Allen Hopkins’ Super billiards Expo in King of Prussia, PA, since right around its beginnings fifteen years ago. Deuel has long coveted the Valley Forge professional title, and this year the 2005 UPA Tour champ and former winner of the junior event here can add the Gabriels Open 9-ball Professional Players Championship to his collection. Perhaps it will start him toward another UPA top ranking, which he hasn’t held since 2003. With nearly flawless play all day, Deuel capped off three matches Sunday with an 11-9 victory over Detroit’s Ronnie Wiseman.
