New Player Association for Billiards Announced
In a press conference held at the Riviera Hotel and Casino on May 17, 2010 the Association for Billiard Players (ABP) announced that they have officially launched. The conference was held by professional players Johnny Archer, Rodney Morris and Stevie Moore. The purpose of the new association is to allow the billiards players have some control in tournaments that they compete.
The main goals of the new association include being guaranteed payment in events, controlling their own ranking points system, protecting themselves against unforeseen issues, and positioning themselves in the future to offer benefits such as health insurance and retirement funds. In a bold statement that will send a shock around the world, the ABP further declared that all promoters will need to adhere and follow the stipulations that they will provide in the near future.
