Chad Vilmont took an undefeated journey at the March 1 stop of the Pechauer All-American Tour to claim first place. Hosted by Legend’s Sports Bar in Clinton, IA, this $500-added event drew 42 pool players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.
Vilmont, a local player, dominated Brad Thompson 7-2 after previously overcoming Jason Totten 7-2 in the A-side semifinals while Thompson clipped Josh Johnson 4-6. In the B-side last eight, Rich Bideaux and Ron Pluym eliminated at seventh place Rich Blauer 5-0 and Frank DeCastecker 5-2, respectively.
Johnson ousted Pluym 7-4 and Totten eliminated Bideaux 4-4, sending them both home with fifth place. In the quarterfinals, Johnson ousted Totten by a score of 7-0. The B-side finals featured Johnson stopping Thompson at third place 7-3. The final match featured the undefeated Vilmont versus Johnson, and Vilmont made short work of Johnson in the first set to claim the title 7-3.

Chris Patterson took off the February 23 stop of the Pechauer All-American Tour. Hosted by Rockford billiard Cafe in Rockford, IL, this $1,000-added event drew 30 players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.
Patterson took an undefeated route to the finals. In the hot seat match, Patterson outpointed Larry Loomis 5-2. Earlier in the A-bracket semifinals, Patterson defeated Marlon Angeles 6-2, while Loomis took off Carlos McGill 4-3. In the B-side final eight, Gil Hernandez and Angie Voorhees eliminated at seventh place Ron Scalzitti 6-4 and Shawn Carlson 4-2, respectively.
Voorhees had her event ended by Angeles 5-2, while Hernandez eliminated McGill 6-2. The quarterfinals saw Hernandez continue his hot hand by knocking out Angeles 6-4 at fourth place and then Larry Loomis 6-1 at third. The tournament finals featured undefeated Patterson versus streaking Hernandez, but Hernandez ran out of gas under Patterson’s pressure, and Patterson won the title 6-1 in the first set.

Craig McLaren took down the February 9 stop of the Pechauer All-American Tour, defeated Wayne Wright in the finals. Hosted by Leisure Time billiards in Sterling, IL, this $500-¬added event drew 21 players in a double-elimination 9-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.
McLaren enjoyed an undefeated march to the finals. In the hot seat match, McLaren raced past Anthony Garcia 4-1. Earlier, in the A-bracket semifinals, McLaren handled Bryan Dickerson 4-2, while Garcia clipped Ken Harvell 4-3. In the B-side round of eight Wayne Wright eliminated Jeff Hawks 5-3, while Jim Fridley ousted Rich Bideaux 4-3. In the B-side quarterfinals Harvell knocked out Fidley 4-1, while Wright ended Bryan Dickerson’s run 5-2. The B-side semifinals featured Wright ousting Harvell 5-2, and Wright continued his hot hand in the B-side finals to eliminate Garcia 5-0. Wright had to defeat McLaren two sets for the crown in the tourney finals, but McLaren prevailed in set one over Wright by a 4-2 margin for the title.

Undefeated Run for JohnsonPechauer All-American Tour / East Moline, IL

Josh Johnson cruised undefeated to take top honors at the February 2 Pechauer All-American Tour stop. Hosted by Leisure Time billiards in East Moline, IL, this 500-added event drew 21 players in a double-elimination 9-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.
In the hot seat match, Johnson clipped Rich Bideaux in a hill-hill game 8-5. Earlier, in the A-bracket semifinals, Johnson escaped Shannon Rasmussen 8-5, while Bideaux outgunned Bruce Welch 6-3. In the B-side quarterfinals, Jesse Bowman eliminated Rasmussen, while Anthony Garcia ousted Bruce Welch 5-2. In the B-side semifinals, Bowman knocked out Garcia 8-3. The B-side finals ended Bowman’s run, as Bideaux held off Bowman 6-5 to gain another shot at Johnson for the title. Bideaux had to defeat Johnson two sets for the crown, but Johnson was having none of it, turning back Bideaux in the hill-hill game by an 8-5 margin for the title.

Rudy Alameda triumphed at the January 26-27 stop of the Pechauer All-American Tour, defeating Mitch Ellerman for first place. Hosted by Main Street billiards in Tucson, AZ, this $1,000-added event drew twenty-seven players competing in a double-elimination 9-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.
A Phoenix resident, Ellerman marched undefeated to the finals. In the hot seat match, Ellerman dispatched Jack Rippel 9-6. Earlier, in the A-bracket sem-finals, Ellerman outpointed Kevin Peterson 9-5, while Rippel knocked off Alex Liebeskind 9-5. In the B-side quarterfinals Alameda, who suffered an early-round loss, eliminated Alex Liebeskind 7-4, while Kevin Peterson ousted Kenny Zamora 7-4. In the semifinals, Alameda avenged his earlier loss to Peterson, relegating him to fourth place by a 7-4 score. Alameda continued his hot streak by dropping Jack Rippel at third place by a 7-5 margin, enabling Alameda to get a title shot against Ellerman in the single race-to-11 final match. Alameda was not to be denied, as he jumped on Ellerman early and glided to an 11-6 win for the crown.
